Therapy services

I am currently offering individual virtual therapy for adults through a confidential online platform. I am based in Oakland California and most familiar with resources in the San Francisco Bay Area, however I am licensed to work with people throughout the state of California.

Therapy Models that I use

  • ACT is an approach to therapy that uses acceptance, mindfulness, values, and action to support living a life of meaning and purpose. The aim of ACT is to build psychological flexibility which is the ability to stay present and open in presence of difficult thoughts emotions, and sensations while choosing actions that move one in a personally meaningful life direction.

  • CFT is an approach to therapy that integrates insights from neuroscience, evolutionary and social psychology, attachment and polyvagal theory, cognitive behavioral therapy and Buddhist psychology. It was originally developed to treat self criticism and shame and has shown effectiveness with a range of mental health challenges including trauma, anxiety, and depression. The aim of CFT is to balance our emotional regulation systems, cultivate compassion for ourselves and others to reduce suffering and increase wellbeing.

  • EMDR is an approach to therapy that aims to help people experiencing emotional distress and difficult memories rooted in trauma and difficult life events.

What to expect?

  • Reach out for a free 15 min consultation to see if my practice is a good fit for you and what you are wanting to get out of therapy.

  • Each person is unique and at the begining of therapy we will start with a comprehensive assessment to help clarify and understand what is bringing you into therapy followed by a personalized plan to meet your needs and goals.

  • Based on treatment goals we will tailor a plan that can include elements of: experiential awareness and compassion exercises, curiously exploring and processing experiences, learning and practicing skills to respond to current difficulties, and setting intentions for action to move towards personally meaningful goals.

  • Once treatment goals are met and new skills integrated and maintained, it may be a good time to end therapy and use the tools gained from therapy to live a full life.
